Descriptif
Produced in the german town of Auma in Thuringia in the early 1950s, this Midgard wall lamp belongs to the mythic series created the first time in 1922 by the designer Curt Fischer (1890-1956).
The manufacturer Midgard was known by its high quality lamps but Curt Fisher gave Midgard lamps mythic because for the first time they were adjustable, perfect for work places and nice enough to also iluminate private homes as Walter Gropius home.
At last Midgard Lamps inspired as Bauhaus designers as their students. So Marianne Brandt and Christian Dell has a debt from Curt Fisher design.
It gets a black enameled shade (white interior) which is contrasting with the industrial grey-green hammer finish metal enameled brass. Midgard brand on the shade and brass. DDRP label (Deutsche Demokratische Republik Patent ) on the brass.
