Descriptif
Very important artist, foreground french painter born in Ukraine (Gradijsk, 1885 - Paris, 1979), Sonia Delaunay’s artworks are highly valued. Her original lithographs too.
Co-fondator of Orphic Cubism, Sonia Terk-Delaunay was the first living artist to have a retrospective in 1964 at the Louvre. Member of the French Legion of Honor, before her death, she donated her printed work to the Centre Pompidou of Paris, main museum of modern art in the french capital.
Here this original lithograph - produced circa the end oh her life - on a limited proof signed by her hand is in fine condition.
She was famous to create rythm thanks to colours and for using half-circle.
And indeed this lithograph painted and engraved with seven colours is so vibrant.
A magnificent, signed, numbered and high value original colour lithograph.
An important retrospective dedicated to her work has started at MaM (Museum of modern art of Paris from 17 oct 2014 to 22 feb. 2015).
